Delivery Trip

Updated: May 3, 2021

So now that we have bought a trailer we need a tow truck and a place to store it when we get it to Northern California. In a few weeks we found another American Classic - the Ford F150 and discussed the restoration project with Geoff in Petaluma. So we are now ready to pick the trailer up.

By mid-September Jim resolved the paperwork and we went back down to Hemet to pick up the Airstream. After an initial tutorial from Jim to setup the tow, we got on the road - ready for the LA Freeways. My only request for Jo was to please try to avoid any bendy or steep roads.

Our first destination was a Winery near Santa Barbara, but unfortunately it turned out that it was not that close to the coast and there was an extremely challenging road to get there!!! So, here is a third-party video of the road that we went down on the first day of trailing. Both Jo & I were totally freaked out by this experience, but maybe this would be a good preparation for trips in next 12 months :)

We now love Harvest Hosts for a FREE coolplace to stay and chill out at night.

Here are pictures from the second winery that we stayed at:

A college professor of photography was also a guest with his trailer and wanted to take photos of Peter and his Covid hair :)
