Day 4/5 Test Trip by JoJo

Updated: May 15, 2021

Hobson Beach Park, Ventura to Twentynine Palms RV Resort in Joshua Tree National Park - 223 Miles

Tuesday: Great Trip from Ventura to Joshua Tree, 29 Palms RV Resort, Peter drove like a trailer pulling pro - this was our first hook up to shore power and City water. The slinky and hose worked, missing a ring washer (on the shopping list - there is always a list ;)). We tested a lot of the plumbing & power systems, a couple of gotchas, there is always something to fix, tweak.

I cooked a little supper, we played cribbage, Peter thrashed me and then played backgammon and I absolutely trounced Peter 3 - 0, YESSS!.

Drive into Joshua Park (with no trailer) probably 90 miles driven in the day.

Wednesday: We drove into Joshua Tree Park to visit the Cholla Cactus Garden, we then went to the Hidden Valley Trail and walked the 2 mile trail. Amazing scenery, rock formations, a little wildlife and I even found the only bit of color, on the trail I think it's a beavertail cactus.

From here we drove to Home Depot to pick up some things and then we popped next door into Walmart for a few bits and bobs. From here we drove to Pioneer Town, to have a late lunch early supper, Red Dog was closed and so was everything else including Baldwin's Mine and yes we took a photie of PB infront of it.

Asked a local where is a great place for supper and they suggested Kitchen in the Desert, absolutely fab food, mescal margarita and ambiance, their playlist needed a bit of work, that was the only downside.

Back to the Airstream, to do some fix its in the cool of the night, then a bit more backgammon and this time it was Peter's turn at victory 2-1.
